Ravaryn is the third largest country within Odiria in terms of size and encompasses much of the northern hemisphere. The extremely rich kingdom is ruled by a monarchy which operates under the rule of a King and/or Queen. The current ruling family has been the same royal bloodline that has been ruling the kingdom since its founding. The church and its priests have a big influence within Ravaryn, probably the strongest religious influence of all kingdoms. The High Priest is chosen from the kingdom's most devoted priests. Considering the harsh circumstances in which the kingdom has been thriving for centuries the people of Ravaryn are mostly viewed as mysterious. The people of Ravaryn have an immense sense of loyalty, however, both towards their rulers and their patron deity. Aside from the black bear being their way of symbolising their patron, it is common amongst the other citizens in the realm to refer to Ravaryn as wolves, viewing them as the lone wolves of the realm.
Ruling Family
The Ylindar family is the royal house of the Kingdom of Ravaryn. Ever since the kingdom’s founding the family has ruled over the vast region from their seat in Ishgard. They are the oldest line of Odirian nobility. Faith has always been closely intertwined with the ruling family and they proudly worship the deity Ranaan. The ruling family's symbol, the chalice, comes from their relationship with the High Priests that have stood by their side since the founding of the kingdom. The relationship between the church and the monarchy has always been a close one, with the High Priest often being the most trusted advisor to a ruler. The Ylindar’s history is tainted with an association to dark elves, yet they managed to persevere their rule by exterminating this threat long ago. This gained the family the eternal loyalty of the people, which they gratefully returned. Seen as righteous, just and determined, the Ylindar family is greatly respected throughout the kingdom. The family isn’t as large as others but they are exceptionally tight-knit and fiercely protective of each other, as well as their people. Because of this, they are often referred to as ‘the wolves of Ishgard’. After all, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives.

Cities
Ishgard
Capital city
Ishgard is the capital of the Kingdom of Ravaryn and the ancestral home of the royal Ylindar family. The city is surrounded by strong walls and green pastures, with the Crystal Stream running alongside it. The impregnatable royal castle is located in the centre. Deep within the palace lies a garden with a giant hollow tree. Within this facade stands a glowing tree: the tree of life. It is the source of life in the city and the reason Ishgard is not fazed by the cold weather. The heavily protected garden is not reachable to anyone except the royal family and the high priest. The tree of life is more of a myth to the citizens of Ishgard than it is a reality.

Norwyn
City
Norwyn is the main seaport of Ravaryn. Most of the people are fishermen or tradesmen and are known for their vast knowledge of the cold seas. The original rulers of the city were tribesmen that slowly integrated with the other inhabitants of the northern region of Odiria. They are known to be harsher than any other northerner. The city is built around the flanks of a hill, with the Citadel located on the summit looking out over the harbour and Frostcrown’s Pine.

Sleetspire
Town
The town of Sleetspire is located on a plateau within the Ancient Mountains. It is a strong fortress with high walls and watchtowers that protects the Kingdom from intruders. Several other towers are placed throughout the mountain ridge and serve as a warning system. Sleetspire is the base of mining operations for precious metal and stones within the mountain range. The mountains are difficult to navigate and many who have tried to conquer them, including the Ashmoorians, have failed to succeed. Only the inhabitants of Sleetspire know safe passage through the treacherous peaks.
